Bayer Leverkusen's B Team beat Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga on Saturday night and set a new record for hat-trick goals.

The match was played at the home of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and it was an intense battle between two teams that have been consistently performing well this season. The B team had a strong start to the game and scored early in the first half through a header from the left wing player. However, Hertha responded strongly in the second half and scored three goals to give them a comfortable lead.

The B team responded immediately and scored their first goal in the 12th minute when they converted a corner kick. However, Hertha scored back-to-back goals in the 25th and 27th minutes to make it 4-0 after the break.

In the third quarter, Hertha added another goal as goalkeeper Thomas Weiland made a diving save to prevent a penalty shootout. But the B team rallied again and scored a brace in the 60th minute to take the lead 5-1.

However, Hertha managed to level things up just before halftime with a goal in the 72nd minute by midfielder Martin Tschumper. In the second half, the B team continued to dominate and scored twice more to seal victory.

Thomas Weiland had a fantastic performance throughout the game, making numerous saves and saving crucial points for his team. He also contributed to the hat-trick goal with a superb save in the 78th minute.

"It was a great result for our team," said head coach Michael Hohenzon. "We worked hard all season long and we were able to execute the plan perfectly. We had some good chances but couldn't convert them."

Bayer Leverkusen will now be looking forward to playing against FC Augsburg next week in the Champions League qualifying round. They will face off against one of the best teams in Europe in the group stage.
