Talisca's return and rejuvenation

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised the return of talismanic forward Ross Barkley, who is making his first start for the club since December.

Barkley has been out of action for over two months with a hamstring injury, but he returned to training at the weekend and made his first appearance in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The England international came off the bench in the 69th minute as Everton drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

"Ross Barkley had a fantastic game," Ancelotti told reporters after the match. "He's back, it was a good game for him."

Barkley scored the equaliser in the 54th minute before setting up the winner in the 72nd minute.

"It was a great performance from him today," Ancelotti added.

"I'm very happy for him because I know how much he wants to play football. He is back and he can play again, that's important for us."

Ancelotti also spoke highly of the performances of other players in the team, including defender John Stones and midfielder Jordan Pickford.

"The team played well tonight," Ancelotti said. "We have a lot of young players and they are playing really well."

"We're going to continue like this."
